French forward Jeremie Aliadiere had been with Arsenal since 1999, at which time he joined the club as a 16-year old. Aliadiere showed great promise and had natural ability, earning him the title of 'the next Thierry Henry'. However, Jeremie's career has been hampered by injuries, reducing his appearances mostly to that of a substitute. He made his English Premiership debut as a substitute in 2001 but was unable to hold down a first team spot. It seemed that the Frenchman would be leaving Arsenal after being sent out on loan to Celtic, West Ham and Wolves in the span of two years. The prodigious attacker returned in 2006 and enjoyed success all the way to the Carling Cup Final in 2007 with the Arsenal '2nd team'. After constant transfer speculation linking him away from the Emirates stadium, he finally made a permanent move to Middlesbrough in a £2million deal in June 2007.
